CBS Channel 4 News Investigates Doggy Daycare Violations - Aired 11/05/07
We strongly encourage our website viewers and clients to be very careful when choosing a dog care facility or boarding facility. This investigative report by Rick Sallinger of Channel 4 News on doggy daycare facilities in Denver and surrounding cities of Denver was very enlightening. The City of Denver and other municipalities in the area do not monitor and/or check on the regulations/guidelines of these facilites to operate properly to ensure your pet's safety. The major violation found was there was not enough staff to properly supervise the amount of animals in the facility and the play areas were not maintaining the appropriate large and small breed population (ie. putting small dogs in with the larger dogs, etc.). Please be very careful when choosing a daycare facility for your pet!

Dacona Dog Euthanized While Owners Are On Vacation
A Dacono family found out the hard way what it's like to leave your pet with little contact information while on vacation.
Linnea Riebschlager went on a backpacking trip with her kids in late October. She left her dog "Floyd" with a family friend.
Somehow, the dog managed to escape from a friend's backyard. Eventually, Floyd was picked up by an officer and transferred to the Boulder Valley Humane Society. Employees at the Humane Society struggled to find contact information for Floyd's owners. When they tried calling them on their home phone and cell phone for four days, they received no response. While at Boulder Valley, Floyd was out of control. Since the Humane Society had no other way to get a hold of his family, and since they believed Floyd was too vicious, employees decided to put him down.
